BNHS-SHS TWITCHES DEFIANCE

On May 15, 2013, President Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. signed Republic Act No. 10533, the

Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (“K to 12 Program”). Section 2 of the law declares that “every graduate of basic education shall be an empowered individual who has learned, through a program that is rooted on sound educational principles and geared towards excellence, the foundations for learning throughout life, the competence to engage in work and be productive, the ability to coexist in fruitful harmony with local and global communities, the capability to engage in autonomous, creative, and critical thinking, and the capacity and willingness to transform others and one’s self.”

Beyond adversities, Department of Education adapted the new curriculum to elevate the educational status of the country. Though lack in preparation, the Department of Education (DepEd) allotted huge amount for the launching. It is through the concerted effort of all the geniuses in the academe, including the former Schools Division Superintendent, Ronaldo Pozon, EdD, who made it all possible.

In the City of Balanga, we are blessed for our very own, Armando C. Capili, EdD, the former principal of Bataan National High School to be chosen as be one of the members of National Speakers’ Bureau. DepEd Undersecretary Dina S. Ocampo chose crusaders who will disseminate information about the K to 12 program and we were lucky that the city has the pleasure to have one. Read more...

WHAT’S UP?

BNHS has the biggest land allocation for classroom construction in the central Luzon. It covers five (5) hectares only for the classroom. At present, Grade 11 and 12 are enjoying the generosity of Hon. Albert S. Garcia with the 2-storey (10 classrooms) he donated and was named after the late Hon. Tet Garcia. The said building was made the administration building where different offices are located. Security Bank also contributed 2-storey (8 classrooms) which are being used by the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS). DepEd provided 2-storey (16 classrooms) all set for the Accountancy and Business Management (ABM). At the moment, the 4-storey (20 classrooms) from PAGCOR is enjoyed by the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Laboratory equipment were also provided by DepEd occupying the straight ground floor of the said building. Just last year, a 4-storey (20 classrooms) intended for the TVL. These include the different technical workshops that are being used manually. The parents of our clientele also have laid their benevolence by providing one (1) million-peso cost of robotics and laboratory equipment. Currently, the city also provided half a million pesos for the robotics and other laboratory equipment. We are also proud to announce that we are recipients of the School Learning Hub as the City’s Venture to uplift the technology education of the youth of the City of Balanga. The same manner, we were installed with the Solar Panel connected to SLH consumptions. Air-condition units were also installed to the SLH. The computer 40 sets per classroom computers completed the Senior High School’s School Learning Hub.

FLIGHT OF THE FLEAT

“A journey begins with a single step”. Who can ever say that with only a year of planning and preparation, BNHS-Senior High will be a realization? The vision is now a reality.

Bataan National High School has made herself well known of quality education, and lifelong learning institution. With the launching of Senior High School, it will soon open a new chapter of story and history but people will never forget what is inculcated in the mind of the teachers of BNHS, “A true leader leaves a mark when he left”. At the moment Dr. Capili, enjoys the office of the ASDS in DepEd Tarlac City office. But before he went there, he ported the Senior High School all-encompassing. As of him, he sees BNHS in 2018 a well-established Senior High school, where youth relishes success in excellence not only in the academe but also in services.

At present BNHS-SHS is managed by the current ASDS, Roland M. Fronda, EdD. The thought about “understanding the smell of the sheep” which we often hear before is never heard anymore. Dr. Fronda on his temporary stay in the school had established an excellent leadership and organized the new face of the SHS. He is now maintaining the good emblem in SHS. Support from the local government, private sectors, and parents has made things little by a little a realization of the vision. We can now say, Department of Education, with the compassionate brace of industrious work force, Bataan National High School-Senior High School is an inclusive haven for the youth.
